Synopsis by Janiss Garza
Renee Browning (Marjorie Rambeau) is cast out of her home by her irrationally jealous husband (Frederick Burton). With nowhere to go, she turns her hobby of reading cards into a profession as a fortune teller and joins the circus. Over the years she is overwhelmed by her misery and sinks to drunken depths (clearly this is a familiar cinematic tale). But she crosses paths with her now-grown son Stephen (Raymond McKee) and it turns out that her encouragement is far more helpful to him than anything his father does or says. The young man makes a success of himself and this inspires Renee to pull herself together. This not-terribly original picture was based on the play by Leighton Graves Osmon.
