Synopsis by Mark Deming

A handful of women struggle to turn adversity to their favor in this sports-themed drama from South Korea. With the 2004 Olympics in Athens looming on the horizon, South Korean athletes are vying for places on the country's women's handball team, hoping to improve on the unimpressive reputation they've gained from poor showings in previous years. Two veterans are brought in to help anchor the women's team, but Mi-suk (Mum So-ri) is considered too old to be a serious competitor, and coach Hye-gyeong (Kim Jeong-eun) isn't believed to have what it takes to bring home a medal. Hye-gyeong is fired from the team and she's replaced by Seung-pil (Eom Tae-woong), a ranked male handball player who was once her boyfriend. Can Hye-gyeong make her way back to the team and show the world what South Korea's women can do? Also starring Jo Eun-ji and Kim Ji-yeong, Uri Saengae Choigoeui Sungan (aka Forever The Moment) was inspired by the true story of the 2004 South Korean women's handball team, and was a major box office success in its home country.
