Synopsis by Robert Firsching
Photographer and chronicler of the bizarre Charles Gatewood hosts this videotaped documentary tour of some of his best-known photographs. Outré celebrities like Annie Sprinkle and William S. Burroughs are featured, along with more traditional mondo subjects such as drag queens, sadomasochists, scooter-trash, and body modification devotees. Tattoo artist Spider Webb is shown with a tattooed human fetus, and photos of the Sundance Ritual -- subject of Gatewood's previous Bizarre Rituals: Dances Sacred and Profane -- also appear. Not for the weak of stomach, this tape is just the ticket for fringe-culture enthusiasts.
