One of the silent era's better villains, Noah Beery, played a nasty ranch owner battling a handsome Yankee sea captain (Elliott Sparling) for the love of a pretty senorita (Barbara Bedford in this action-oriented melodrama set in Old California. Forbidden Love was produced by low-budget Sierra Pictures, a busy purveyor of cheap entertainment releasing through Selznick Distributing Corp., a company founded by David O. Selznick father Lewis.
