Synopsis by Janiss Garza

This simplistic little film was described in the trade paper Moving Picture World as equal parts Cinderella and Little Lord Fauntleroy. When her mother dies of consumption, little Ethel Dean (Hilda Nord) is left an orphan. Her best pal is Jimmie, a newsboy (Charles Jackson). Together they decide to search out Mrs. Dean's brother, Sidney Bentham (John Dillon), a wealthy financier. Bentham had estranged himself from all his relatives long ago, but has heard that his sister is dead. When Ethel and Jimmie show up on his doorstep, he repents enough to allow both of them to live with him. The two children go about trying to reform Ethel's grouchy relative, a task not so easily accomplished. Bentham is determined to ruin his brother in the stock market. Ethel and Jimmie use their wiles to bring the two brothers together for a reconciliation.
