Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Ubiquitous Canadian singer-songwriter Ed McCurdy was the star of this CBC series, which began its weekly Saturday-evening run on July 1, 1961. In addition to performing, McCurdy offered entertaining analyses of the country's most famous folk tunes, and in general conducted a lighthearted "musical appreciation" class on each 15-minute episode. Like most of McCurdy's TV efforts, this one was produced in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The final installment of Folk Songs with Ed McCurdy was telecast on September 16, 1961.
