Synopsis by Cara Saposnik
With dynamic visual style and the staccato rhythms of the Flamenco itself, this Academy Award-winning documentary introduces a most visceral art form. Students at the National Ballet School of Canada are visited every year by Susana from Spain, who is both ageless and vital. She leads and teaches her students in movements that express the struggle between life and death, earth and sky. Shot in the light coming in from the high windows in a church, Susana instructs her students in the ancient art of passion and controlled emotions.
