Synopsis by Hal Erickson

Hosted by activist Erin Brockovich, whose real-life story inspired the Oscar-winning movie starring Julia Roberts, this 13-week series offered authentic tales of women beating the system and winning. The spotlight was shone upon corporate whistleblowers, union organizers, ecologists, and everyday people who were able to change laws, correct injustices and delegate huge cash settlements for the disenfranchised and downtrodden. The opening episode alone featured Susan Wilson, successful petitioner for a law to prosecute "video voyeurs"; Carol Sievers, who, after the rape and murder of her daughter, spearheaded a national DNA database to track down sex offenders; and Autumn Skeen, who lobbied for improved child-protection laws in the automobile industry. Taped in the summer of 2002, Final Justice made its cable-TV bow on January 17, 2003.
