Franz Schubert's Fierrabras opera is performed at the Salzberg Festival with the Vienna Philharmonic led by Ingo Metzmacher. Fierrabras is the tale of friendship and romance during a military conflict involving the Christians and Moors at the time of Charlemagne. Directed by Peter Stein and starring Dorthea Roschmann (Die Ziet) and Michael Schade (Der neue Merker).
