Synopsis by Eleanor Mannikka
The old and the new clash with humor in this comedy, presented in two hour-long episodes. Both segments are set in Naples and feature the ever-inventive Pippo (Vittorio De Bisogno). In the first story, Pippo and a friend grab their tape recorder and set off to interview the celebrants of a religious pilgrimage. The intricacies of cords and plugs and wires notwithstanding, Pippo has a hard time connecting with the pilgrims who are not interested in being taped. In the second story, the same duo head toward a cabaret show in the middle of a city square, intending to capture its talent. But the musicians and singers at the show can barely capture the attention of their audience. Old men complain about not being able to hear their televisions, and once again, the old and new are at odds.
