Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Remembered today by only the staunchest British kiddie-show buffs, Fergus the Fish was an animated series which first aired around 1960. The title character was a youthful wooden fish, who lived in a cellophane sea world. On each episode, Fergus' mother would tell him what not to do, whereupon the hero, after gurgling an obedient "Yes mummy" or "No mummy," would proceed to behave in any manner he pleased, with hilariously disastrous results. Originally telecast over Britain's ITV, Fergus the Fish ran at least until 1965, though it may not have been in actual production for that long a period of time.
