Synopsis by Maggie Sadler

In the 1970s, the sleepy Pitkin County, Colorado, finds its small-town politics upended when outspoken author and journalist Hunter S. Thompson arrives within the county limits with the unusual plan to campaign for the role of sheriff. Candid interviews with Thompson's inner circle and archival footage piece together the curious moment in both Pitkin County's history and Thompson's unruly biography. Written and directed by Bobby Kennedy III.
