Synopsis by Jack Rodgers
This drama jumps back and forth between two different time periods as it depicts a turbulent parent-child relationship. An acclaimed writer (Russell Crowe) struggles to care for his young daughter Katie (Kylie Rogers) following a car accident that kills his wife and leaves him with a head injury that causes violent episodes. Years later, Katie (played as an adult by Amanda Seyfried) is a social worker whose long-standing intimacy issues are put to the test when she tries to connect with an abused child (Quvenzhané Wallis). Diane Kruger, Bruce Greenwood, Aaron Paul, and Jane Fonda co-star. Directed by Gabriele Muccino (The Pursuit of Happyness).
