Synopsis by Janiss Garza

A widower, Andrew Slocum (Henry E. Dixey), and a widow, Mrs. P.I. Winkle (Mabel Montgomery), are rivals in the pickle business. Even in pickles, dirty tricks abound; Slocum sends his son Andy (Gladden James) to get a job with Mrs. Winkle so they can snoop around her company. As the Winkle bookkeeper, Andy falls in love with the boss' daughter, Matilda (Milicent Evans); he also messes with the pickle inventory, causing his father's pickles to gain favor with the public. Mrs. Winkle desperately tries to interest Slocum in a partnership, but she is firmly turned down. So she gets a job at Slocum's in order to get his pickle secrets. She secures them by blowing up the Slocum safe one night. The next day, her manager, Heaps, steals the formulas. In the midst of all this, Andy and Matilda have run off together and Slocum has gone after them. He winds up in jail, and it is Mrs. Winkle, not Slocum's exasperated son, who gets him out. Slocum and Mrs. Winkle finally catch up with their offspring as the two are getting married. Heaps is arrested, and not long after, the older pair decide to wed, too.
