Synopsis by Jonathan Crow

Mohan Sinha directs this lavish romantic drama about an idealistic writer named Kusum (Pushpa), who writes a play extolling the virtues of modern life. Her beau and fellow college student Ramesh (R.D. Shukla) agrees to produce the work, which results in him clashing with the nefarious Madhav (Dhar). Meanwhile, Raja (Wadilal) -- who has long been in love with Kusum -- seeks to become her husband by helping her father manage his mountain of debt. Abductions, murder, and musical interludes ensue. Sinha's 1936 opus Romantic India is the sequel to this work.
