Synopsis by Robert Firsching

No relation to the 1988 comedy Jui Gaai Nui Sai, which was also released in the United States as Faithfully Yours, this Hong Kong drama from director Tam Long-cheung stars Emil Chow as Pao Wing-cheung, a voice-dubber who must make some difficult decisions before the 1997 reunification with China. His wife, Kitty (Cecilia Yip), is urging a move to Canada when the much-dreaded day arrives, while his employer (Christy Chung) is eager for him to stay because his leaving would put her on shaky career ground as well as threatening an impending contract with Disney. When Wing-cheung agrees to stay in exchange for a substantial salary hike, Kitty takes their daughter to Canada anyway. Naturally, Wing-cheung begins an affair with his boss, who soon turns out to be acting out of ulterior motives. It all concludes in a novel manner, with the castmembers discussing their characters on camera, perhaps a harbinger of the integration of trendy DVD "extra features" into films themselves. Lau Siu-ming co-stars with Peter Lai and Bonnie Fu, while Asian film buffs will recognize veteran character actor Bowie Lam as Wing-cheung's brother.
