Not to be confused with the NBC drama series (and later reality show) Fame, this E! Entertainment cable series afforded average guys and gals the opportunity to vicariously live the lives of their favorites stars. With the help of expert makeup and fashion specialists, the show's "civilians" were transformed into the living images of such celebrities as Britney Spears and Tom Cruise. The fun really began when these lookalike wannabes ventured into the streets and attempted to fool the public, while hidden cameras whirred away to record the results.
