Part of the documentary series Eyes on the Prize 2, which investigates the more recent journey of the civil rights movement and provides a follow-up to the acclaimed Eyes on the Prize series, Eyes on the Prize 2: The Promised Land (1967-68) profiles the important last year of Martin Luther King Jr.'s life. The documentary shows King protesting the war in Vietnam and starting his Poor People's Campaign. Finally, the film discusses King's tragic 1968 assassination and the events surrounding his death.
