Rap singer Eve was the eponymous star of this stylish sitcom, which went into production under the title The Opposite Sex. Eve was cast as Shelly, a Miami fashion designer who ran a thriving business in partnership with her gossipy best friends Janie (Natalie Desselle-Reid) and Rita (Ali Landry). Ever searching for a lasting romance with "Mister Right," Shelly was convinced that she had found both in the form of J.T. (Jason George), but her friends were not as easily won over. Created by Meg DeLoatch and fitted out with a theme song performed by Missy Elliott, Eve joined the UPN lineup September 15, 2003.
