Synopsis
Tchaikovsky's opera is sung in Russian (with English subtitles) by Lyric Opera of Chicago. The work opens in 1820 on a Russian country estate, where the arrival of a handsome stranger named Eugene Onegin (baritone Wolfgang Brendel) tragically disrupts the lives of two romantic young sisters.
