Frank Fogle (John Hawkes) is determined to fulfill his deceased wife’s last wish: for him to spread her ashes in a lake in Ireland with his incarcerated estranged son, Sean (Logan Lerman), by his side. The moment Sean’s sentence is over, Frank immediately tells him of the trip. Unfortunately, he declines in favor of starting a new life in California. When his plans don’t pan out, he bitterly accepts his father’s offer, though with some caveats. As the father and son tandem journey together, they find the wounds of the past slowly healing.
