Synopsis by Jason Buchanan
The tragic and touching story of Joseph Merrick - also known as The Elephant Man as a result of his severe and visually striking deformities - arrives on stage in this 2002 performance of a four act opera written by Laurent Petitgirard and featuring libretto by Eric Nonn. The Nice Opera Chorus and Philharmonic Orchestra performs under the guiding wand of Petitgirard, and Jana Sykorova stars in the titular role.
