Synopsis by Mark Deming
Straddling a tightrope between psychedelia and garage rock, the Electric Prunes enjoyed a small handful of hits in their original incarnation in the late '60s, but by the time the group's third album had been released, control of the Prunes had been taken over by their management and record producers and the original band members had been pushed aside. However, in 2000 the original members of the Electric Prunes staged a reunion tour to reclaim their legacy and prove they had the talent to perform that made them famous. The Electric Prunes: Rewired was recorded live at a show from the British leg of the reunion tour; songs include "I Had Too Much to Dream Last Night," "Get Me to the World on Time," "The Great Banana Hoax," "Castaway," and more.
