Synopsis by Mark Deming

A middle-aged father of four finds himself suddenly single and not enjoying it very much in the drama DWM (Divorced White Male). One day Al (Lou Volpe), the manager of an auto parts store, gets some rather surprising news from his wife Carla (Lydia De Luccia) -- she has decided she's leaving him. While Al wants to keep their marriage together, Carla has made up her mind, and soon she's gone for good. Al decides before long he's not cut out to live alone and tries to get back in the swing of dating, though the results are less than encouraging. Meanwhile, Amy (Lauren Bailey), a waitress at a restaurant where Al often dines, has her own share of romantic problems; her violent former husband won't leave her alone, and most of the men she meets are creeps or losers. DWM is the first feature from writer, director and star Lou Volpe.
