Synopsis by Dan Pavlides
A 20-year-old soldier is caught in the mayhem of battle in this gripping war drama. When he fails to deliver a vital message, he is condemned to death by his superiors. A Nazi attack brings the bomb blast that kills those responsible for carrying out the execution, and the young man and a guard are the only survivors. The two combine forces throughout the course of many battles, but when the guard is killed, the young soldier decides to turn himself in. By this time, the winds of war have changed, and the soldier is granted a full pardon. This is the third feature film from innovative stage director Anatoli Efros, best known for his 1978 film On Thursday And Never Again.
