Synopsis by Tom Ciampoli

Director Jade Martin's documentary attempts to shed light on the apparent social expectations imposed upon well-known black celebrities in the hip-hop community. While education and social consciousness remains an integral part of the nation's fabric, several musical artists and entertainers with the ability and public platform to speak out are instead keeping the rhetoric simple and shallow. Have these artists been effectively bought out by corporations who don't necessarily have their clients best interests at heart, or are these celebrities simply too vapid to care about problems plaguing millions of households modern-day America?
