Synopsis by Jason Buchanan

Writer, poet, and filmmaker Gabriel Leif Bellman profiles a traveling Irish circus that has been handed down from father to son since 1775, and ventures to the most remote villages and bogs in order to entertain even the most isolated audiences. Through famines, wars, and torrential downpours, Duffy's Irish Circus has endured to become perhaps the oldest traditional one-ring show on the planet. Today the circus is run by "7th generation Duffy" David Duffy, who hopes to one day pass the tradition along to his young son. The proprietors of Duffy's Irish Circus do things the old-fashioned way, choosing to set up and take down the big top themselves rather than hiring the help out. The result is a circus that stands as an entertaining relic of what show-business used to be, and could well carry on it's enduring tradition for another two-hundred years.
