Synopsis by Jason Buchanan
Assigned to the L.A. Police Academy, Officer Bill Gannon (Harry Morgan) begins teaching procedure to new female recruits while Sgt. Joe Friday (Jack Webb) introduces magazine writer Dorothy Lee (Virginia Gregg) to the recruits so that she can write a story. Singling in on youthful Joyce Anderson (Susan Seaforth) as her "typical" ambitious recruit, Lee's story hits a snag when it's revealed that her fiancé, determined not to have a cop in the family due to a personal grudge against lawmen, has convinced Anderson to quit training. After Lee goes forward with an article entitled "Cop Turns in Badge for Love," Friday catches wind of Anderson's fiancé's plan and decides it's time for a personal chat with the reluctant husband-to-be. It's not long before Anderson is back in training and graduating at the top of her class.
