Determined to create an anti-materialistic utopian society on a remote island off the California coast, a group of juvenile thieves decide to finance their departure by stealing provisions from local stores. By the time Sgt. Friday (Jack Webb) and Officer Gannon (Harry Morgan) capture three suspects, the radical youths give useless answers when questioned about the whereabouts of their friends. A long conversation on materialism and the state of the nation find the remorseful juveniles getting a crash-course on how to work to make the country a better place rather than running away to in an attempt to build an impossible paradise.
