Investigating the shooting death of Mrs. Marie Robertson, Friday and Jacobs are calmly assured by the victim's husband (Harry Bartell) that his wife committed suicide with his .45 automatic. Despite irrefutable evidence that the couple had violently quarreled just before the shooting, the two detectives are unable to break down Mr. Robertson's story. The whole truth is revealed when Lee Jones (Herb Butterfield from the crime lab scrutinizes a shell casing found on the premises. This episode is based on the same-named Dragnet radio broadcast of May 3, 1951.
