A trio of con artists has swindling out-of-town victims at a local hotel and it's up to Sgt. Friday (Jack Webb) and Officer Gannon (Harry Morgan) to go undercover and crack the case. Despite a minor setback after questioning the hotel bartender, Gannon gets the scoop on a gambling game and finds himself in the company of an attractive young woman as he heads back to his room. With Friday listening from the adjacent room, a pair of con men claiming to be vice cops burst into the room and claim that the woman is a prostitute. Informing Gannon that he must post bail in order to avoid testifying at her arrangement, Friday follows the gang to a police building where he and Gannon make the bust.
