Synopsis by Mark Deming
The Dirty South has become one of the new hot spots in rap music, with the dirty, laid-back beats and harsh, street-level rhymes fueling some of the biggest new artists in the rap game and inspiring other performers from around the country. Down South Exclusive, Vol. 1 is a documentary that features interviews with a number of top-selling rappers, including Ludacris, Big Boi from Outkast, Nelly, Mystikal, Too $hort, and Eightball. This video also features live performance footage from some of the South's hottest hip-hop clubs, including appearances by Pastor Troy and JT Money.
