Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Trouble begins for a crooked politician when a $10,000 bribery check falls into the hands of a wealthy "reform" candidate. The dishonest politico hires a private detective to discredit the reformer. The PI blackmails a young man into framing the "good guy," but the plan is overheard by the young man's wife (played by top-billed Pauline Frederick). The wife manages to double-cross both the politician and detective, while simultaneously preserving the good names of the reform candidate and her own husband. Were it not for the presence of the charming Frederick in the cast, Double Crossed would have been just another "crime in the big city" potboiler.
