The Ballet Nacional de Cuba mounted this production of composer Ludwig Minkus's ballet Don Quixote, adapted, of course, from the seminal 1605 Spanish-language novel Don Quixote de la Mancha by Miguel de Cervantes. It stars Dayron Vera as Don Quijote, Javier Sánchez as Sancho Panza, and Viengsay Valdès as Kitri. Alicia Alonso choreographed, adapting choreography by Alexandre Gorsky and Marius Petipa. The Symphonic Orchestra of the Great Theatre of Havana, under the baton of Giovanni Duarte, provides added musical accompaniment.
