Synopsis by Eleanor Mannikka

In the early 1980s directors Linda Post and Eugene Rosow went through the mountains and valleys of Bolivia to film an interview with Dr. Ruth Tichauer and record her work there. Dr. Tichauer was 74 years old when this film was shot, and had left Nazi Germany decades earlier to minister to the Aymara tribe of Native Americans that live in the mountains of Bolivia. Without help from the Bolivian government, and often paid in fruits and vegetables, Dr. Tichauer has sustained her charitable work over time and in the process, gained the admiration and respect of the people around her.
