Synopsis by Hal Erickson

Though advertised as a "series," the Canadian musical program Dixieland Jazz was actually a loose grouping of four half-hour specials, headlining the talents of cornetist Trump Davidson. The project was similar to a CBC radio program featuring the same stars, though the TV version tended to avoid the "remote" broadcasts common to its radio predecessor. After a two-week Wednesday night run on April 21 and 28, 1954, the Toronto-based Dixieland Jazz returned for a single episode on Thursday, May 27. The property made its final one-shot appearance on Monday, September 6, 1954.
