Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Candice Olson, described by some (and affectionately!) as "The Martha Stewart of Canada," was the host of this weekly interior-decorating series. Her specialty was to gently descend upon a typical household and perform makeover miracles with the help of her terrifyingly efficient staff (a carpenter, an electrician, a painter, and a design assistant). What kept the program down to earth was Olsen's casual demeanor and her witty, seemingly off-the-cuff comments to her assistant designer Steven Southgate. Originally telecast in Canada on the W cable network, Divine Design made its U.S. debut June 30, 2003, on Home & Garden Television.
