In this sequel to the 1998 action thriller Streetwise, Alex (Sheila Hayes) has become the leader of an underground criminal empire in Washington, D.C., which she rules with the help of her lieutenant Mercedes (Kimberly Person). But Alex has become just successful enough to attract competition, and Marconi (Mark Hyde) is a mechanic with the Chicago mob who is sent to D.C. to muscle in on their action. Alex isn't especially interested in giving up part of her hard-won turf, and when an altercation between one of Marconi's drug dealers and Mercedes escalates into murder, an all-out war breaks out between the two mobs. Divided City was screened as part of the 2004 San Francisco Black Film Festival.
