Gujarati filmmaker Balwant Bhatt directs this melodrama about brotherhood and boats. The film centers on Kano (Arvind Pandya), the adopted son of lifelong sailor Lakhu Malam (Kamalakant) who loving teaches Kano the finer points of life at sea, much to the chagrin of Lakhu's biological son Kavli (Baburaje). Not long after Kano falls for the beautiful Motan (Nandini), Kavli forces his brother to imbibe opium, rendering him an addict. Then the evil Kalvi kidnaps Motan, only to be confronted and killed by his own father Lakhu. The police pin the blame of Kalvi's rampage on his father and sentences him to live in a lighthouse for the rest of his natural life.
