Inspired by the 1987 movie of the same name, the weekly dance-competition series Dirty Dancing offered what its home network WE described as "hot beats, seductive dancing and fairytale dreams." It all began as thirty female contestants gathered at an actual Catskills resort, where they were greeted by six male dance instructors. Each man selected one woman as his partner, the starting point of a competition wherein the winning finalists landed a spot with a live "Dirty Dancing" tour, which whisked the lucky couple all over the world. Hosted by professional choreographer Chris Judd, Dirty Dancing was doled out in eight 60-minute episodes, the first of which aired on December 6, 2006.
