Synopsis by Lucinda Ramsey
This German gimmick film links various documentary scenes from all over the world into a suspenseful search. A host describes the scenes to a group of men who cannot leave until they solve the riddle. They must find the link between all of these apparently unconnected stories to determine the identity of the man in them. The documentary sections, filmed in color while the men are always shown in black-and-white, deal with lost cities, a Germanic man in South America, and another man who dies in some exotic South Sea island, and so on. These scenes are punctuated by the discussions of the men. Considered a clever form of travel documentary, this film won the 1964 Belgian Experimental Film Fest.
