Synopsis by Eleanor Mannikka

A pseudo-documentary based on the composite histories of several abused women, this is a gripping, honest look at how a man could get away with repeatedly beating his wife. Addi (Elisabeth Walinski) has a son in kindergarten who is plagued by wetting himself and has intense separation anxiety. Addi's husband is egocentric and quick to lose his temper. In the face of his increasing brutal beatings, Addi takes her son and goes to a safehouse for battered women. But when she seeks a divorce from her husband, he presents himself as innocuous and stable, and her case against him dissolves. He then kidnaps the son, and Addi is forced to return home facing the inevitable beatings once again.
