Synopsis by Mark Deming
Popular jazz vocalist Diane Schuur teamed up with the Count Basie Orchestra (then under the more-than-capable direction of Frank Foster, Basie himself having died three years earlier) for a session of swinging blues and jazz standards taped live at the A&M Studios in early 1987. Selections include "Until I Met You," "Jumpin' at the Woodside," "Trav'lin Blues," "We'll Be Together Again," "Caught a Touch of Your Love," and nine others.
