Synopsis by Mark Deming
A man must do battle with Mother Nature to save his hometown in this made-for-cable disaster film . Pete Jensen (Joe Lando) is an Oklahoma storm chaser who lives to follow tornadoes, until a twister crosses paths with his home, killing his mother and terrifying his young daughter. Shaken to his core, Jensen leaves his daughter with his wife and moves east, starting a new career as a police detective. Years later, Jensen has come home for his daughter's high-school graduation and pays a visit to Bob Booker (Peter Graham-Gaudreau), one of his old storm-chasing pals. To Jensen's surprise, he and Booker discover a cataclysmic storm is heading their way; adding to the danger, it seems the storm could easily level a secret laboratory which holds samples of deadly diseases and viral toxins. Devil Winds also features Nicole Eggert as Julia Merrow, a reporter coving the storm's progress who is also Jensen's significant other.
