Synopsis by Dennis Proctor

In this 1993 educational video, Dr. Jawanza Kunjufu examines the significance of multiracial standards of beauty for children. The program looks at the effect of confidence, accomplishment, and parental involvement on black children. Dr. Kunjufu also focuses on the importance of a parent's ability to keep control, teach responsibility, and act as a positive role model. The video pays considerable attention to the lack of discipline in public schools and the consequences that an unpleasant educational experience may have on a young person. Dr. Kunjufu is the author of many books on the subject and is also featured in Dr. Jawanza Kunjufu: Let the Healing Begin.
