Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Running five reels, Detective Craig's Coup was a pulpish actioner from Pathe's American factory. Francis Carlyle was cast as Detective Craig, with Charles Arling as his arch enemy, counterfeiter James Dalton. Using dissolute millionaire Bob Brieley (Jack Stainding) as his innocent dupe, Dalton begins spreading "funny money" throughout the city. Blackmailed into silence, Brieley is then strong-armed into participating in a bank robbery. But Detective Craig manages to keep two steps ahead of the villains at all times -- and as icing on the cake, he acts as matchmaker for Brieley and the beautiful but penniless Mae Edwards (Pearl Sindelar).
