Synopsis by Andrea LeVasseur
Anthropologist Anne Lescot and filmmaker Laurence Magliore team up to direct the documentary Des Hommes et Dieux (Of Men and Gods). Shot with digital video, the hour-long film concerns several gay men in Haiti who actively pursue voodoo religious practices. Several different men and a few priests in the Port-au-Prince area offer their perspectives on the matter. While homosexuality is still taboo in Haiti, there remains a growing gay community there. Of Men and Gods was shown at the 2003 L.A. Outfest.
