Synopsis by Hal Erickson

Popular Swedish comedian Edvard Persson essays the title role in Den Gladde Skraddaren (The Happy Tailor). With eight children to support, Soren the tailor (Persson) could use some extra money, but he remains curiously oblivious to his financial straits. Impulsively, Soren attempts to purchase a local flour mill; amazingly, he is bankrolled in this endeavor by wealthy Squire Sten (Sven Bergvall). It's assumed that Soren has agreed to the marriage between his daughter Anne-Marie (Marianne Gyllenhammar) and Sten's son Ingvar (Ernst Wellton), but this never comes to pass. The moral of the story seems to be that if you're a Happy Tailor, fortune will eventually smile in your direction.
