Synopsis by Eleanor Mannikka
This ragged but engrossing documentary is about the making of a no-budget horror film called Demon Lover. Joel DeMott and her boyfriend, the cameraman for the horror-film project, decided to record what went on behind the scenes, during shooting, and among the crew throughout the creation of Demon Lover. Animosities, problems in sponsorship, awful acting, and even the flaws of everyone involved are amply recorded -- intentionally or not. There are plenty of raw edges in the motivation, dialogue, crude sets, and the entire taudry creation of Demon Lover, enough to make the documentary a sobering experience.
