The Canadian television series Degrassi Junior High has been praised regarding the extent to which it deals realistically with the issues of adolescence. A continuation of Kids of Degrassi Street, which was set in a racially and economically diverse city neighborhood, the program became popular for its upfront presentation of emotional issues. In this episode, Liz expresses herself as an animal rights activist and tries to get Caitlin involved in her quest; however, what Caitlin finds in her research convinces her that animal rights isn't a simple issue. Meanwhile, Joey tries to promote the band by getting their tape played on the air at the radio station where he secretly works as a janitor.
